Last week we continued watching our lady bugs develop as they went from being larva to becoming pupa. we also continued discovering spring by planting carrot tops into cotton balls and see what would happen. We also learned about the water cycle.
We also focused on Lag B'omer and learned about Rabbi Akiva and the importance of being kind to each other. we learned this through a puppet show of kids behaving and not behaving. Luckily, our classroom knows what the proper behaviors should be.
we made a bonfire by using fire colored paint and our hands to create the fire. we used our fine motor skills to rip brown paper and glue them for the logs. then, we enjoyed our classroom bonfire in the front yard - the children helped create smors, and made tissue paper flames. we enjoyed the smors, music, bubbles and balloons at our bonfire.

May 16th

What a great week went by. I have noticed that the children have started to unite more in the classroom and pretend play together. This week, the children all sat in an airplane together and took a trip to Florida.
This week we learned more about spring time. We learned that the days get longer and that the weather gets warmer.
We also learned that the insects come out in the spring and learned all about different kinds of insects.
In our classroom we got larva, which are going to turn into lady bugs. We are watching them eat, grow and hopefully soon they will become pupa (with a crisalys) and form into ladybugs.
We made ladybugs as an art project, we painted paper plates red, glued on black circles and made Antena out of pipe cleaners.
We also continued learning about sfirat haomer and made flowers for har sinai. The children cut out their own flowered and connected them to pipe cleaners. Then, they stringed them into straws to make stems.

What an amazing week went by. We learned about Israel and Spring.
On Wednesday, the children got passports and went to Israel. We set up the community room with different areas of Israel and we enjoyed different activities representing different areas of Israel. We also learned about Yom haatsmaut - Israel's birthday - and the colors in Hebrew.
We started learning about spring and explored the difference between flowering and non- flowering trees.
