Update from Nursery Bet

Some pictures from last week and this week:)
Happy birthday to our two birthday girls, Daria and Oriya!
We have been focusing on winter in the classroom and today we decorated snowflakes with jewels and sequins. We will continue to work on our projects until we are ready to cut them out and hang them up.
I posted a picture of our cozy corner. This is a special place for the children to go when they are feeling angry, frustrated, or sad.  All the items on the bench are generally in the blue box. When a child is having strong feelings they can go to the bench and follow the steps written on the white paper. First they sit down and start the 3 minute timer. Second they do some deep breathing by 'smelling' the flowers and 'blowing' out the candles. Next they can choose an item to help them relax. After the timer is finished they leave their frustration behind and rejoin the class feeling better! The kids love it! We also hung little sensory boards for them to observe and discover when they are in the Cozy corner (soft, rough, bumpy, and shiny).
