This week our class experimented with ice and water. We discussed how winter has cold weather and the water outside freezes. Another way for water to freeze is by putting it in the cold freezer. We tried it our by putting water in an ice tray overnight. We all wondered what would happen.... The next day we were so excited to discover that our water had become ice! We painted the ice and watched as the colors mixed.
The next day we tried another idea. We painted our ice cubes with hot water to see if they would melt. And they did! We even used the classroom timer to see how many minutes it would take. We watched as they got smaller and smaller from the heat!
We concluded that water becomes ice from the cold and turns back into water when it is hot!
By morning meeting we decided to have some fun. We built a cave and sat inside while reviewing everything we know about hibernating caves. Later we put the cave in a smaller area in the classroom so we could keep it around for a while. We love to play with friends and pretend we are bears sleeping in the winter and waking up in the spring!
Have a good Shabbos!
love,
